You guys really got your Thunderbolt talk messed up. Apple brought Firewire to the world, but they also brought USB to the world by making it the default in the original iMac back when everyone thought they were crazy. Windows would still be using serial ports and floppy drives if it wasn’t for Apple. As well, USB 3 is still an intel supported specification!

Thanks Thomas, we did mention later on that it’s weird for Intel to be competing with USB 3 because that’s also its standard. It looks like Intel may have more control over how Thunderbolt rolls out, as well as the chipsets behind it.
